VESCONITE EARTHMOVING

Vesconite is a high-performance engineering plastic that is widely used in the earthmoving industry for various applications, such as excavators, loaders, bulldozers, dump trucks, etc. Vesconite can resist abrasion, impact, corrosion, and dirt and provide long-lasting performance and durability.

Some of the benefits of using Vesconite in earthmoving are:

  • Vesconite has a high abrasion resistance and can resist wear from sand, gravel, rocks, etc.
  • Vesconite has a high impact resistance and can absorb shocks from heavy loads and collisions.
  • Vesconite has a high corrosion resistance and can resist rust from moisture and chemicals.
  • Vesconite has a low dirt adhesion and can prevent clogging and jamming of parts.
  • Vesconite has a low maintenance requirement and can reduce downtime and costs.

Some of the applications of Vesconite in earthmoving are:

  • Vesconite wear plates and liners for excavators and loaders, such as buckets, booms, arms, etc.
  • Vesconite bushings and bearings for bulldozers and dump trucks, such as blades, tracks, wheels, etc.

COMMON EARTHMOVING APPLICATIONS

KEY FEATURES

  • Vesconite has high abrasion resistance and does not delaminate, rust, or require lubrication.
  • Vesconite does not swell or distort in water, saves on costly maintenance downtime, and is resistant to oils and fuels.
  • Vesconite bushes are easy to fit and remove and are shaft-friendly.

MATERIAL COMPARISON

Vesconite offers a huge time-saving compared to bronze and steel bearings on earthmoving machinery, where maintenance involves lubricating hundreds of grease points, with resultant downtime.

Greasing takes time and can be difficult to manage. Typically, access to bushings and grease nipples is difficult, maintenance may be unreliable, and grease nipples often “disappear” under layers of stuff and dirt.

If not regularly greased, bronze bushings wear quickly. Regular replacements of bronze bushings are seen as part of normal maintenance. But bush replacement is costly, involving labour and downtime as well as the cost of the bronze bushes.

If not regularly greased, bronze bushings may seize, damaging shafts and machinery.

If not regularly greased, metal-to-metal contact leads to wear of shafts and pins. This may mean replacing costly parts or time-consuming repairs.
