VESCONITE IN PUMPS
Vesconite is a high-performance engineering plastic that is widely used in the pump industry for various applications, such as centrifugal pumps, diaphragm pumps, gear pumps, etc.
Vesconite can withstand high pressures, flows, and temperatures and provide efficient and reliable operation.
Some of the benefits of using Vesconite in pumps are:
- Vesconite has a high pressure resistance and can operate in pressures up to 100 MPa.
- Vesconite has a low friction coefficient and can reduce energy losses and cavitation.
- Vesconite has a high temperature resistance and can operate in temperatures up to 100°C.
- Vesconite has a good chemical resistance and can resist water, acids, alkalis, salts, etc.
- Vesconite has a low water absorption and can prevent swelling and cracking.

- Vesconite does not swell or distort in water, does not delaminate or corrode, and is resistant to oils and fuels.
- Vesconite bushings are easy to fit and remove, prolong shaft life, and require no lubrication for up to 1 minute after start-up.
MATERIAL COMPARISON
Between the pump impeller and casing wear rings, tight clearances are required. Swelling and corrosion can be an issue with traditional materials.
This is not the case with Vesconite due to its virtually zero water absorption rate and dimensional stability, and no bimetallic corrosion.
Unlike bronze or rubber bushings, fresh and saltwater serves as an effective lubricant for Vesconite Hilube. This makes it an ideal material for pump bowl bushings and stuffing box bushings.
